In the Darkness

When you think you have heard enough about death, murder and other atrocities, it’s in these moments where we see such great darkness, that we realize the need for some light.

This song, “In the darkness.” is about coming to the point of realizing that when all labels, identity and masks are stripped away, there is nothing to the human being but darkness in the absence of light.

We were never meant to exist separated from the light either, and we are but empty shells without it. We have access to pure light. God is that Pure Light. and not only do we have the honor to behold Him, we should also have the honor to carry a bit of His Light and His Love to those around us. We don't need to be harbingers of God's truth, we just need to let His light fill us and brighten our lives from the inside out. And so my counterpart to this song is called, “the Light,” in response, and these will be what I consider my Christmas songs about Christ, and the darkness is what we lived in before our Redeemer came.
